After the successful Da Vinci Junior and Da Vinci 1.0 Pro, XYZprinting is now bringing the Da Vinci Mini, a very affordable, user-friendly, plug & play printer to make 3D printing available for everyone. The low price shouldn't give the impression that the quality is subpar; the printer is built very solidly and also the print quality with a resolution of 100 micron is perfectly fine. This means it is even better than its big brother, the Da Vinci Junior. Additionally, the machine is also extremely silent during printing; thus, being ideal for your office or class.
It is always a good sign when a printer is showered with awards before it is even for sale in the shops. And the small da Vinci Mini already received the Editor's Choice Award from USA Today and Reviewed.com after its debut in January at the CES 2016. Furthermore, the Mini received the TWICE Picks Award for best 3D printer at CES 2016 and the Best Choice Award at COMPUTEX Taipei 2016.
The XYZprinting da Vinci Mini is a very compact 3D printer with a build volume of 5.9 x 5.9 x 5.9 (150 x 150 x 150 mm). And this Mini is so easy to use that XYZprinting claims that you can use it, even if you've never made a 3D print before. The da Vinci printer comes fully assembled with plug-and-play and the printbed is able to calibrate itself.
The da Vinci Mini easily establishes, thanks to its free 3D printing software XYZware, connections with the wireless network in your house, office or classroom. The new version of this software has improved precision and efficiency, resulting in even less time being required for preparing prints. And you can go up to a whopping 100mm per seconds in printing.
The Mini makes use of a closed filament system, resulting in only being compatible with XYZprinting PLA filaments. This limitation is partially compensated by the fact that PLA from XYZprinting are made of cornstarch and are thus biodegradable and non-toxic. The filaments are throughly tested and guaranteed to be free from plasticizers and heavy metals.
XYZprinting makes 3D printing childishly easy, as printing is made possible with just one button. Thus, the Mini has no LED screen with extensive options, but rather works with the help of LED status indicators that indicate the different print states. The following applies:
• Green: Standby mode
• Red: General error
• Blinking Red: Serious error
• Orange: Printing
• Blinking Orange: Printing has stoped
All XYZprinting printers, thus, also the here discussed Mini, have per default enough memory on board, so that you can upload your print and then disconnect your computer, while the printing continues normally.
